Shadows Fall - New Song Online

US metallers Shadows Fall have posted online a new song, "King Of Nothing", on their MySpace page. The song features a guest appearance by Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe.

"King Of Nothing" comes off the band's forthcoming album, entitled "Retribution", which will be released on September 15 via Everblack Industries.

Brian Fair commented: "This song opens with my favorite riff on the record. It came out of Matt's late night drunken riff bag, and the song built itself around the heavy vibe that it created. It is a four minute beat down! The lyrics of this song are about the overwhelming self-medication of our world. There is a prescription for every mood these days, and people are turning into zombies. It's time to toughen up and face your reality, no matter how brutal it may be, otherwise you will just be reigning over a world of nothingness. The bridge features guest vocals from the one and only D. Randall Blythe aka Uncle Goddamn aka The Redneck Assassin of the mighty Lamb Of God. Randy came down to the studio in VA to cook us dinner, and we put him right to work behind the mic. We layered his voice with Matt's and myself to create the three part harmony from hell!"

Shadows Fall - New Video Online

Shadows Fall have issued the following update:

"Head on over to myspace.com/metal and check out our latest video for "Forevermore". It's being featured on MySpace so it's the only place you can see the video right now. There's some sick footage from the Red Bull Air Race in there that you have to see. If you don't know what the Red Bull Air Race is then now's a good time to find out. We can definitely consider it a pretty metal sport!"

"What's happening everyone!! I know it has been a while since my last update but expect to be hearing from me a lot over the next few weeks!!"

"Lots of stuff going on in the world of Shadows Fall these days. We are eagerly awaiting the release of THREADS OF LIFE on April 3rd and are currently gearing up for the Jager Music Tour with our friends in Stone Sour and Lacuna Coil. We have been at home for a LONG time so there is a lot of pent up energy set to explode when we hit the stage in March!! We plan on debuting a few new songs from THREADS OF LIFE as well as working some older tunes back into the rotation."

"This week we are launching the official Shadows Fall Youtube.com channel. To celebrate its birth, we will also begin releasing a bunch of video webisodes documenting the writing and recording process of THREADS OF LIFE. We shot a bunch of footage at our practice space, Studio 606 and a few local bars and are excited to bring you what we've cut together so you can get a glimpse into the making of the album. Keep an eye out for a few surprise guest appearances!!!"

"That it is for now but keep an eye out for more updates soon!! We'll see everyone out on the Jagermeister Music tour. Check shadowsfall.com for dates in your area. Till then crack a brew and rock some tunes!!"

Shadows Fall - Drops Off Upcoming Tour

Atlantic Recording Group Shadows Fall has reluctantly decided that the intensity of their current recording sessions has made it impossible for the band to hit the concert trail next month for their previously announced shows with Killswitch Engage and Bury Your Dead. The Springfield, MA-based rock outfit is hard at work in the studio with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Stone Sour, Rush) recording their highly anticipated Atlantic debut, due in early 2007.

"We are all very disappointed that we will not be able to hit the road with our friends in Killswitch Engage and Bury Your Dead," said Shadows Fall lead singer Brian Fair.

"Originally, we had hoped to complete the recording of our new album in time for the beginning of the tour on November 9th, but now it appears that will not be possible. New ideas have continued to surface and push the songs into new directions that we have to pursue. Making the best album possible is our number one priority and something we must focus on one hundred percent at this time. We sincerely apologize to all the people that planned on coming to see us at these shows, but our absence is no reason not to go and support this tour. Our bros from New England in Killswitch Engage and Bury Your Dead will be throwing it down the way only they can and this should not be missed by anyone!! We will keep you posted as we wrap up the album and make plans to get back on the road."

Massachusetts-based metal act All That Remains will join up with fellow New England natives Killswitch Engage for a string of dates throughout November, replacing Shadows Fall as direct support for the package which also features Bury Your Dead and 2 Cents.

Shadows Fall - Enter Studio

Shadows Fall entered the studio in late-August to begin pre-production for their new album, and Atlantic Records debut. Here's an update from drummer Jason Bittner :

"Well everyone, as of 2 weeks ago we started pre-production for our new album with our producer Nick Raskulinecz. He flew out from LA on a Monday evening, and by Tuesday afternoon we were in our rehearsal room slowly dissecting all of the material that we currently have written for our Atlantic debut.

First off, I think everyone was impressed...Nick was pretty stoked with our material and ambitions, and the band was extremely excited and impressed by Nick's ideas, let alone his never-ending enthusiasm! We put a solid 6 hours in the 1st day just jamming and revamping. Later on that night brought a well-deserved evening at the bar discussing what we would do once we got in the studio.

Day 2 brought the seeds for 2 more new songs, as well as a day of actually demoing the tunes for the first time in their new forms. At this point everyone was shot, so we all decided to be smart, stay in and get some rest.

Day 3 brought another new song to the table...Matt, Jon, and Paul had a wedding to go to so we ended early, I went home to NY and Brian and Nick worked on vox for the rest of the day.

The last day, I was informed that it was going to be a vocal day only, so I stayed home to rest my arm which at this point was hamburger (Damn tendonitis!!)!! At the end of the day, Brian had a good 7 tunes demoed out vocally with some great new ideas, and Nick got on a flight back to LA.

All in all, we had a great 1st run. We can't stop talking about how much we think Nick is helping to add some more dimension to this band that we never thought existed, but don't start worrying yet, we're not cutting our hair and selling out, this record is still going to be heavy as hell!"

Shadows Fall - Vocalist Diagnosed With Laryngitis

Shadows Fall lead singer Brian Fair was recently diagnosed with not only strep throat, but also laryngitis. However, he refuses to cancel any performances because of it. Fair states, "I have never cancelled a show due to poor health and don't plan on it now. The support of our fans means the world to us and I would never do anything to let them down. Besides, if Curt Shilling can lead the Red Sox to a World Series victory with a sewn up ankle then I can tough it out and bring the metal."

Shadows Fall massive co-headlining U.S. tour alongside Damageplan and The Haunted kicked off earlier this week.
